To empower the villagers, I have been working in my village for about 9 years. I offered free tutions for free. I started from what I could share, English. The more I taught the more I felt I really need to do something to help them. While most students in the city are competetive and ready to further their education, students in the country are often left behind. Many of them just come to the class but learn very little if not nothing.
I had followed regular steps like trying to contact different departments to get help. However, not soon after that I decided to follow my heart, and I began to listen to the voice inside. I made use of different expressions and tried to prove some of them such as ' If you don't know shit,...... or I don't give a shit". Some expressions like this interested me for it is about body parts which I am interested in. Most of all, in many culture talk about shit. Therefore I started off by "asking myself, what if I can make use of my shit?"
I occasionally ask my firiends about the word and collect data through radio, my clips which include both voices and pictures or movie).
By the beginning of the 9th year at the village, my big project was completed, and I got the buddha image in my heart and hopefull will be able to write or talk about my experience in the village.
I think I have conducted a research work that has not been conducted before. It combines different disciplines such as Buddhism, science, linguistics together, and it dealt with languages and expressions. I played with the saying " I don't give a shit." Because I cared, I have learnt a lot. I am sure when I have time I will be able to write a few books about it. One book that I have in mind will be a little academic 'The Key (Meetee's Clips), or "The power of methaphor" or "I got mad at Ball state" And that's why I hope to be able to come Ball State.
It is important for me because I can communicate with people around the world. Nevertheless, I do hope that I will hear from you soon.
Sincely yours,
Metee Kansa
